Portsmouth Muay Thai
Our goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and professional training environment for all members. These rules apply to all members, visitors, and guests.
***Failure to follow these rules may result in suspension or termination of membership.***
Respect and Behaviour
All members must:

Treat coaches, staff, and fellow members with respect

Behave in a safe, controlled, and responsible manner

Follow all instructions given by coaches

Avoid aggressive, abusive, threatening, or disruptive behaviour

Not engage in bullying, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
Portsmouth Muay Thai operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive or unsafe behaviour.
Safety During Training
Members must:

Train within their ability and fitness level
-
Follow coach guidance at all times
-
Use appropriate protective equipment when required
-
Immediately stop training if instructed by a coach

Inform coaches of any injury or medical condition
Safety is the highest priority at all times.
Sparring and Contact Training
Sparring and partner drills must always be conducted safely and respectfully.
Members must:

Follow coach instructions regarding contact level
-
Use appropriate protective equipment
-
Never intentionally attempt to injure another member
-
Maintain control at all times
Coaches may stop sparring at their discretion.
Hygiene and Personal Cleanliness
To protect member health:

Clean training clothing must be worn
-
Gloves, shin guards, and equipment must be clean and maintained

Members must maintain good personal hygiene

Open cuts or wounds must be covered
-
Members with contagious conditions must not train
Members may be refused training if hygiene standards are not met.
Equipment Use
Members must:

Use equipment safely and correctly
-
Not misuse or damage gym equipment
-
Return equipment after use
-
Report damaged equipment to staff
Members may be held responsible for deliberate damage.
Punctuality and Class Conduct
Members should:

Arrive on time for classes
-
Follow class structure and coach instructions
-
Avoid disrupting sessions
-
Remain attentive during instruction
Late entry may not always be permitted for safety reasons.
Personal Property
Members are responsible for their own belongings.
Portsmouth Muay Thai Ltd is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.
Members are encouraged not to bring valuables into the gym.
CCTV and Security
CCTV operates on the premises for safety and security.
Members must not interfere with safety or security equipment.
Photography and Social Media
Members must respect the privacy of others.
Photography or video recording inside the gym must not be carried out without permission from staff.
Members must not post content that may harm the reputation, safety, or privacy of others.
Junior Members
Junior members must:

Follow coach instructions at all times

Behave respectfully towards coaches and other members

Follow safeguarding and safety rules
Parents and guardians must ensure children are collected safely and on time.
Health and Medical Responsibility
Members must:

Inform staff of injuries or medical conditions
-
Avoid training if medically unfit
-
Take responsibility for their own health and physical condition
Members train at their own risk.
Drugs, Alcohol, and Intoxication
Training under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
Members suspected of being under the influence may be refused entry or asked to leave.
Membership Suspension or Termination
Portsmouth Muay Thai reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if a member:

Breaches gym rules

Behaves in an unsafe or inappropriate manner

Poses a risk to themselves or others
-
Fails to follow coach instructions
No refunds will be issued where membership is terminated due to misconduct.
Agreement to Follow Rules
By training at Portsmouth Muay Thai, members agree to follow these rules and help maintain a safe and respectful training environment.
